Welcome to Rude Reviews

What’s with Rude Reviews? After one seeing, you get the set up, a paragraph or two about the direction, the producer and aspects of the actual making, notes about the flick and then other comments and sometimes how much money it is making. It's that easy! Put another way, you’ll get a simple review that lets you know what the beginning is about but no review of the entire story (what’s the point of that?) and you should get an idea of whether you’ll like it or not. The reviews themselves have evolved - so going backwards you’ll notice the improvements in the more up to date ones! .

( And, of course, these film reviews are not rude - in the sense of being vulgar - but rude in the sense of being simple, inelaborate. Also reviews here will never be in awe of the big stars just because they’re big shots. And, too, many film reviewers show off their own cleverness, which maybe is good for their vanity but usually not much use for anybody else and is a failing - rudereviews will try never to emulate this.)

Reviews of flicks are in a reverse chronological order but click on the Navigation Bar to the left for an actual write-up, in either Movie, Short Film or Documentary. Usually a Short will appear with other Shorts in a longer review between /- /-. Below the Navigation there's a heading, SIDETRACKS, this is for ‘wackier’ items, usually about blockbusters and tales of film events, articles & reviews, which don’t fit any category ( between § in the list below § ). And below that are headings for the latest Edinburgh and Raindance Film Festivals and of Galway 2006.
